Xur, Destiny’s weekend trader, sculptor of novelty classical miniatures, and former ‘90s stock trader, is back in the Tower. This week, he’s in the Tower North, just opposite the Speaker. What does he have though? A big bag of average, really, but you might find something you like. Specifically if you're a Warlock.
The Titans’ Crest of Alpha Lupi isn’t a bad co-op choice, given that it speeds up revives – for both the revive vendor and the lucky receiver – a property that might soon become even more valuable, given the news that reviving is going to be made harder in the next update. The Hunters’ Don’t Touch Me gauntlets are interesting, but rather specific and a tad gimmicky in their purpose, in that they turn you invisible when you take a melee hit. Handy for hectic Hive missions, perhaps, allowing you rain death upon the Thrall hordes entirely unseen – and if you’re still trying to cheese Crota’s end, then these will definitely help with the first bit – but otherwise not essential.
Do Warlocks have it any better? Well yes indeed they do. The Impossible Machines furnish the Landfall perk entirely free of the need to actually equip it, meaning that you can spear the ground with lightning bolts each and every time you fire up your Super, and still use either Superconductor (for chain lightning) or Electric Glide (for evasive teleporting) at the same time.
As per usual, Xur will be in the Tower until 10am UK / 2am PT on Sunday, at which point he'll vanish off to do whatever the hell it is he does for the rest of the week.
