Last week, Japan was wrapping up their Golden Week celebrations, so there weren’t any new releases. Kirby: Planet Robobot, Yo-kai Watch: Sangokushi, and Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu 2016 were the top-sellers. Media Create provides us with a look at software and hardware sales data from the week of May 2 through May 8, 2016.
Kirby: Planet Robobot made its debut the week prior at 144,846 copies sold at launch and followed up with 79,807 last week. Yo-kai Watch: Romance of the Three Kingdoms sold 33,996 copies to hop over Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyu 2016 for #2. As for the latest entry in the popular baseball series, it placed #3, #4, and #6 with 24,827 copies sold on PS Vita, 23,936 for PS4, and 14,035 on PS3.
Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3 climbed its way back to #5 with 14,200 units moved last week. At #7, #8, and #9 are the regulars with Minecraft: PlayStation Vita Edition (10,289 copies), Splatoon (9,478 copies), and Super Mario Maker (8,947). Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games is also hanging in there at #10 wit 7,040 units sold.
As far as hardware sales go, there wasn’t anything too noticeable but there was an overall slight decrease in sales across all platforms.
