EA and Origin Access confirm Mass Effect: Andromeda is coming

Released in March, Mass Effect: Andromeda is heading to EA/Origin Access before the end of the year. That’s confirmed by one of EA’s own announcements, detailing the games and demos that will be added in October through December.

That seemed quick to me, but it’s comparable to other significant EA releases. Titanfall 2 was released in October 2016 and showed up on Origin Access in August 2017. Likewise, Battlefield 1 came out in October and was added in August of the next year. Seems like if you’re prepared to wait nine months or so, you’ll probably see the major titles pop up on the subscription service.

As well as Mass Effect: Andromeda, the Origin highlights are an early ‘Play First’ trial for Battlefront 2 and a similar thing for Need for Speed: Payback. You can no doubt expect those a little ahead of their respective 17 November and 10 November release dates. The Battlefront 2 blurb isn’t specific about whether the number of trial hours are limited, while Payback says it’ll be restricted to 10 hours ahead of launch.

Mass Effect: Andromeda will be the full game. It didn’t receive any single player DLC, most likely due to a poor reception overall. No specific date is given for its inclusion on the service, but it will be some time between now and the end of December.
