AMD seem to pop out new drivers at a pretty rapid rate these days, and today sees the release of Crimson 16.6.1. The headline optimisations are for Mirror’s Edge Catalyst and Paragon; the latter of which would probably excite Paul, if he had my penchant for AMD cards.
A few notable fixes include the apparent end to “flickering or corruption may be experienced when playing videos in a web browser” and better performance on night/rain tracks in DiRT Rally. There are a couple of other flickering-based fixes listed too: one related to Fallout 4 in Crossfire, and the other when using an Oculus Rift with multiple displays at different resolutions.
Crimson 16.6.1 also adds a Crossfire profile for Dark Souls 3, if you have a pair of cards able to take advantage of that. The download is linked above. Cleaning out the old driver with DDU prior to installation is perhaps less necessary these days, but it’s still something I tend to do.
Here are the remaining, known issues with this release.
