No Man's Sky could have paid DLC according to Sean Murray

No Man’s Sky has been selling by the spaceship load this week and Hello Games are busy readying a patch. So what’s in store for the future?

No Man’s Sky players are looking forward to free updates to flesh the game out but talking to the Daily Star Sean Murray has hinted that paid DLC could happen.

When asked whether the game’s updates will always be free he added, “Maybe in the future there’s some reason why we just couldn’t possibly afford to do a certain feature without charging for it”.

In a previous statement made by Murray less than a week ago to RedBull he stated, “We do want to add a ton of features, like we’ve just discussed: Freighters, bases, these type of things. But we want to do it for free. You’ve paid for the game, so you should get this stuff without paying even more money. So no, there will be no paid DLC, just patches”.

It doesn’t sound like paid DLC will be happening any time soon but it’s another comment that doesn’t quite stack up based on the previous statement, and what would be that “certain feature”? With so many players now invested, Hello Games could quite easily charge for larger updates.

As with most things No Man’s Sky related nothing is ever certain until it happens.
