It’s no surprise that so many games remain unplayed in Steam Libraries, there’s now so much to choose from.

In an announcement for Steam Dev Days, which is about start in Seattle, Valve revealed there is now more than  10,000 games on Steam for Windows, Linux, Mac and multiple VR platforms.

The sheer volume of games available is great for consumers but it poses a real problem for indie developers trying to break through and capture an audience.

VR has still to capture the imagination of PC gamers but there are also around 600 VR “experiences” now on Steam. VR appears to be important to Valve’s master plan and at Steam Dev Days new prototypes of VR peripherals will be demonstrated.

With so many games to choose from, it can be hard to weed out the sheer volume of garbage that’s on Steam which is a real problem for Valve and consumers. Perhaps the upcoming changes to the Steam Store will help.
