AMD Crimson 16.11.4 drivers released, fixes H.264 playback

Those who’ve been waiting for an AMD driver fix for H.264 browser playback issues need wait no longer, 16.11.4 claims to fix the problem. This Crimson 16.11.4 release also suggests it has the best possible support for Civilization VI.

The word in the driver notes on H.264 is as follows: “H.264 content playback may experience playback issues on internet browsers with hardware acceleration when also running gaming applications or content”. Under ‘Known Issues’ it is stated that “H.264 content may experience blocky corruption when streaming using P2P content players on some Radeon RX 400 series graphics products.”

Here are the patch highlights, which also include reference to fixing some graphical corruption issues in Titanfall 2.
